-
Broadland Bowmen, as a club, exists to provide its members with safe and appropriate grounds and facilities in order that they may practise and enjoy the sport of field archery. The Club caters for all field archers without discrimination and operates under the rules of the EFAA and NFAS.
-
Anybody on the course, whether shooting or not, must be a member of the EFAA/NFAS.
-
Only fully paid up members have full use of the club facilities with the exception of organised beginners’ classes. Temporary members may use only the practice butts and then only at the discretion of the instructor or deputising committee member.
-
Any person entering the club ground should shut the gate behind them and the last person to leave should lock it.
-
All motor vehicles shall park neatly on the area set aside for this purpose.
-
All members shall conform to safety standards as set out by the EFAA/NFAS.
-
No archer shall stand in front of the shooting line whilst others are shooting.
-
No archer shall shoot until the preceding group is a safe distance from the butt.
-
Any archers looking for arrows shall leave an adult in front of the target and if shooting alone leave a bow clearly visible in front of the target face.
-
During an organised shoot no person, other than official course marshalls, may walk the 'wrong way' round the course whilst others are shooting. No person may leave the course, except by being escorted off by an official marshall, or when passing the refreshment area.
-
No person shall be allowed to shoot on the course until they have completed a training course and/or have been passed by the instructor.
-
Organised beginners classes shall always have priority on the short practice butts.
-
Archers shall not single out a particular butt on the fixed course for continuous practice. Practice butts should be used for this purpose. This rule does not debar archers from using the course for a practice round.
-
All members are responsible for clearing up their own litter and for general tidiness of the courses.
-
All members shall respect the property of the club’s landlord and shall commit no wilful damage.
-
Smoking is prohibited in the woods and within the club hut and permitted only in the car park/picnic area.
-
The committee reserves the right to rescind membership without compensation of any person who repeatedly disregards the club rules. Reckless behaviour causing danger to others shall result in immediate dismissal.
-
Each and every person is ultimately responsible for their own and others’ safety. Don’t be reckless and don’t accept recklessness in others.
